Child & Adolescent Overview
To help our youngest and most vulnerable, Freedom House serves the behavioral health needs of children as young as 3 years old.
We see children with a wide variety of disorders, many of which are co-occurring. Typically, the children we see are struggling with:
- Substance abuse
- Conduct Disorders such as oppositional defiant disorder
- Shutting Down (not talking, arguing, etc.)
- Bipolar and psychotic disorders.
We assess the child and his or her needs and then create a personalized treatment and counseling plan. Freedom House uses a non-judgmental continuity of family focus to help children recover. This means we include family and community supports and therapies as a component of the child’s overall plan.
We also conduct community intervention services, traveling to the child during a crisis so he or she receives immediate assistance and care or when in-home visits are appropriate for individual or family therapy.
Our Child and Adolescent services are staffed by highly qualified and caring psychiatrists, therapists, and nurse practitioners.
