At Freedom House Recovery Center, recovery is about more than treatment. It is about building a life of stability, independence, and connection. Recently, we celebrated a powerful milestone that reflects exactly that.

Through a new partnership with Wheels 4 Hope, two Freedom House clients received vehicles during a special Car Blessing Ceremony, marking a meaningful step forward in their recovery journeys.

Beyond Transportation

For individuals in recovery, access to reliable transportation can make a life-changing difference. It can mean the ability to get to work, attend appointments, stay connected to support systems, and continue moving forward.

These two clients were recognized for their ongoing engagement and progress in treatment, and their achievement reflects the deeper truth behind recovery: when someone is supported, they can rebuild.

This milestone is not just about receiving a car. It is about regaining independence and creating opportunity.

Community Support in Action

This event brought together a meaningful network of community leaders, partners, and supporters who recognize the value of recovery and the importance of investing in it. As one of Wheels 4 Hope’s newest partner agencies, Freedom House was honored to stand alongside generous donors like the NC Governor and his wife, Anna Stein, the NC First Lady, who attended the ceremony. Her presence underscored the significance of this moment, not just for the clients receiving vehicles, but for the broader recovery community. With dedicated Freedom House staff like Brandi Collins and Anthony Ross there to support and celebrate, the event reflected what can happen when respected leaders and committed organizations come together with a shared belief in second chances and lasting change.

Recognizing the People Behind the Progress

Behind every milestone are people who show up consistently.

Brandi Collins, who served as Peer Support and Case Manager for both clients, was present to celebrate alongside them, just as she has supported them throughout their recovery journey. Peer Support Specialist Anthony Ross also attended, reinforcing the importance of continued connection and encouragement.

At Freedom House, many of our team members understand recovery firsthand. That perspective shapes how we support every individual with respect, consistency, and care.

Why Partnerships Like This Matter in Recovery

Recovery does not happen in isolation. It takes access to care, community resources, and opportunities that support long-term success.

Partnerships like the one between Freedom House and Wheels 4 Hope help:

  • Remove barriers that can disrupt recovery
  • Support independence and stability
  • Strengthen the overall recovery network in North Carolina

When individuals are given the tools they need, they are better equipped to continue the work of recovery on their terms and in their time.

Recovery Is About What Comes Next

At Freedom House Recovery Center, we believe recovery is not just about getting through a difficult moment. It is about what comes after.

This milestone is a reminder that progress is possible and that no one has to do it alone.

We are grateful for partnerships like Wheels 4 Hope, for the generosity of donors like Anna Stein, and for the continued dedication of our staff and community.

Because when people are supported, real change happens.
