WE ARE HERE FOR YOU.” We get a front row seat to the reality of recovery across our campuses every day, so we want to give you a glimpse! Here’s how our Operations and Facility Manager, Kelly Stanley, reflects on the meaning of “no matter who, no matter what, no matter when” : “No matter what your struggle is — substance misuse disorder or mental health — we are here for you. We don't care how many times you have tried to find recovery; we are here to help you. Our primary mission is to support clients, wherever they are in their journey, and help them develop a plan to change their lives when they are ready.” Thank you to Kelly — and the rest of our team — for your unwavering commitment to recovery!

THE FREEDOM FOUND IN RECOVERY

The heart of Freedom House has always been our mantra: no matter who, no matter what, no matter when. Regardless of what challenges stand in the way, Freedom House is committed to providing recovery services to all who seek it.

Every September, we celebrate National Recovery Month with SAMHSA and recovery organizations across the country. And we’re eager to honor this month with you, too! National Recovery Month’s theme this year is REAL (Restoring Every Aspect of Life).

This month, we’re focusing on seeing the REAL impact of recovery through client testimonials, helpful tips on caring for yourself or loved ones in a crisis, and celebrating our staff at Freedom House!

GETTING REAL WITH RECOVERY

We’re digging into what it really means to live in recovery. Because recovery isn’t just about breaking free from addiction—it’s about Restoring Every Aspect of Life (REAL).

According to SAMHSA, that happens through four key dimensions: health, home, community, and purpose.

Here’s how we’re getting REAL about each one:

Health is the first building block because our own wellbeing plays a crucial role in recovery. But you aren’t alone in your health journey! Treatment, recovery support services, and community connections make recovery possible. Check out our programs for more information.

The key to recovery at home is having a safe and supportive environment. When you feel stable and safe there, you’re able to welcome your family into your journey. Learn more about family resources and how to help a loved one.

Being in community contributes to a healthy sense of belonging. Social networks and community provides support through a unique journey. SAMHSA likes to say “family, friends, and peers together put the ‘we’ in wellness.” Learn more about peer support services provided through our Outpatient Clinics.

Purpose. It drives positive change and fosters the resilience that recovery takes every day. We believe all are worthy of a full life in recovery, and it’s our privilege to help people along their journey to discover — or rediscover — their purpose along the way. You or someone you love can begin your positive journey today.

THE IMPACT OF RECOVERY

When all four of these building blocks are secure, people can live full, joyous, autonomous lives. People like R.O.S.:

I want to thank the program, the staff, and everyone involved with helping those of us, the clients, with our recovery. I'm grateful that I stumbled into Freedom House. Where I'm from, a recovery program that is safe is few and far between, so I really appreciate all that the program offers.

R.O.S.

Thanks to the resilience and realness of people like R.O.S., our vision becomes more tangible: all seeking recovery are connected to the care and resources they need to reach their fullest potential.
