How It Works

Clients stay in a safe, comfortable living space for up to six months, receiving 24/7 support from trained staff. Daily routines include group therapy, life skills training, and recreational activities, fostering personal growth and community connection.

Step 1

Submit Your Application

Submit your completed application and clinical documentation via email or fax. Our team will acknowledge receipt within 24-48 hours. We will then evaluate the documentation and contact you to discuss program requirements and payment options.

Step 2

Submit/Schedule A Clinical Assessment

A recent clinical assessment (conducted within the past 12 months) must be submitted by the referral source. If unavailable, potential clients will be scheduled for an evaluation with a licensed clinician at Freedom House. Comprehensive assessments by licensed clinicians are required prior to admission.

Step 3

Pre-Admission Interview with House Manager

A staff member from the Residential Program will review your application and conduct an interview (in person or virtually) to discuss program requirements and expectations before acceptance. Interviews are scheduled within 24-48 hours after the completion of the clinical assessment.

Step 4

Admission and Bed Assignment

You will receive an email or call from the House Manager once you are approved for admission, which may take 3-5 days from completion of the clinical assessment. After admission, the residential staff will finalize the remaining intake forms and provide an orientation to the program.

Step 5

Client Begins their Recovery Journey

Your recovery journey will begin with the development of an individualized treatment and crisis plan. Together with our clinical team, you will explore recommendations for ongoing recovery support services that will benefit your journey.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are cell phones or personal electronics allowed?

No, personal electronics, including cell phones and computers, will be collected upon admission to support your recovery. Residents have access to a house phone and a shared computer as needed for their recovery efforts.

How long is the program, and do I have to stay the entire time?

The Residential Program lasts for six months, followed by outpatient and group support. While participation in the program is voluntary, we encourage all clients to fully commit to the entire duration. This commitment is essential for fostering long-term recovery and renewal.

What should I bring if I'm accepted to the residential program?

Due to limited space in our houses, we ask that you bring no more than two weeks' worth of season-appropriate clothing. Additionally, please bring any current medications prescribed by a doctor in their original containers. We will provide all other necessities for daily living.

Is there a waiting list for admission?

We typically do not have a waiting list for admission. However, there may be times when clients are placed in a house other than their first choice due to bed availability. We strive to accommodate your preferences as much as possible while ensuring timely access to our services.

How much does the program cost?

Medicaid and state funding cover our residential program. Our team will work with applicants to verify their eligibility for funding before admission, ensuring that financial concerns do not hinder access to our services.
